Juno Beach, FL (PRWEB) June 16, 2008 -- Tire Kingdom, Merchants Tire and NTB along with their over 670 retail stores in 25 states, today announced a partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) in their quest to raise funds for pediatric cancer research.
Sister company, Big O Tires, will also hold an awareness and donations campaign next month in support ALSF, bringing this organization's involvement in this worthwhile charity to over 1200 store locations in 45 states.
From June 6 - 9, 2008, (designated "Lemonade Days" for ALSF and all stores) customers will have the opportunity to make a donation to ALSF, have a personalized paper lemon posted at the store to show their support, and receive lemonade "to go". Although the lemonade supply is expected to be depleted by June 9, customers can continue to make donations and have their lemons posted through June 30.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004). At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $19 million towards fulfilling Alex's dream of finding a cure, funding over 80 research projects nationally.
"We are delighted to help in the cause of finding cures for childhood cancer," said Bob Crostarosa, Vice President of Marketing at Tire Kingdom. "This is our first year partnering with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, providing our employees and customers with the opportunity to help the Foundation started by a child inspired by her own fight against cancer."
