Firestone Tires

Firestone Tires

Exclusive summary about Firestone Tires by Peter Gitundu

In the tire industry, there are many manufacturers of the same products, but non beats the companies that produce the Bridgestone and Firestone brands. These car wheels have a long history that dates back to 1900 when the company was founded by one man called Harvey Firestone.

What is the difference between the two types of car wheels? The street tires are 8 inches wide and they weigh 33 pounds, while the Race ones are 14 inches wide and 22 pounds heavy. Other brand car rubber wheel covers that are a product of Firestone company are the fire hawk SZ 50 which has a component of the street ones, only that they have a higher performance tire rate and unique tread designs. Other type of wheels from firestone tires are the passenger all season and the on/off road terrain tires.

Public Relations for Rubber Industry

Exclusive summary about Firestone Tires by Lance Winslow

Obviously, tires are the number one product that the rubber industry makes. Of course Ford and Firestone were under the gun to solve this issue and the Firestone tires were recalled. Many people went out and bought new tires for their Ford Explorers and many people who had Firestone tires on other vehicles also went out and bought new tires because they feared their safety.

This is one public relations disaster crisis, which was actually handled quite well considering the impact of recalling 10 million tires. Also many people who had been putting off tires came and also and tire shops were busy and so were tire manufacturers.

Nevertheless there was some fallout and Firestone tires took some heavy hits.
